BEE Registration for LED Lamps

BEE Registration is mandatory for LED Lamps
Standards : IS 16102 Part 2, IS 16106 and 14700 (Part 3 / Sec 2), Schedule - 20



Standards: IS 16102 Part 2, IS 16106 and 14700 (Part 3 / Sec 2), Schedule - 20 apply to BEE Registration for LED Lamps. Self-ballasted non-directional general purpose LED lamps for general lighting services operating on single phase AC up to and including 250V are subject to energy labelling requirements outlined in the schedule. Both OLEDs and self-ballasted LED lamps that intentionally emit tinted or coloured light are not covered by this schedule. All manufacturers who wish to obtain a BIS approval mark licence from BIS must first register as BEEs. After BEE issues a certificate of registration, the BIS approval mark licence is valid for five years.
Additionally, BEE has advised that all applications for BIS registration of self-ballasted LED lamps must include the information required by IS 16102 Part 2. If the product meets all the requirements of the notified Indian Standard, the BIS will examine the application and register the product (s). The registered products must be issued and a part of the BIS product certification programme.
