BEE Registration is mandatory for General Purpose Industrial Motor ( Induction Motors )

Standards : IS 15999, IS 12615 and Schedule 6



Suppliers of three-phase squirrel cage induction motors with 2, 4, and 6 pole configurations for continuous duty (S1) operation and an output range of 0.37kW to 375kW may voluntarily register under the BEE Registration for Induction Motors programme. By supplying a way to compare the efficacy of motors from various suppliers, BEE Registration aims to promote the efficient use of energy in induction motors. Induction motors that are BEE Registered are more likely to be more efficient than unregistered motors, which helps to conserve energy and cut greenhouse gas emissions. New and used induction motors can both be registered under BEE. Suppliers of induction motors with a BEE registration must meet the minimal eligibility requirements as stated in IS 12615:2011. A BEE rating sticker that includes the name of the supplier, the model number, the BEE Rating, and the registration date is required to be attached to every induction motor that has been registered with BEE.
