Manufacturers and importers must obtain EPR authorization for user terminals and systems in order to guarantee that electrical and electronic products' end-of-life waste is handled in an environmentally responsible manner. E-waste can be recycled or used again to help protect human health and the environment from pollution. If it is packaged and labelled properly, e-waste can also be dumped in a landfill. Unmanaged e-waste can release toxins into the environment, contaminating the air, water, and soil. E-waste management mistakes can expose people to hazardous chemicals. E-waste management at the end of the life cycle of user terminals and systems is the responsibility of the manufacturer or importer of the EPR Authorization.
